why is there a death knight on my WoW account?

so i have world of warcraft and the burning crusade installed, but ive never had wrath of the lich king. for some reason though, when i reinstalled and logged in for the first time in about a year, i had a death knight on the realm with my main lvl 70. the thing was lvl 56 and when i scrolled to it the screen got all black except one weird pixelated, seemingly out of place box. i only care because whenever i load my main it crashes. i can play other characters on the same/different realms but the main crashes before i can even start, something about error 134. i deleted the death knight cuz i thought it may be the problem, but to no avail. i’ve also uninstalled and reinstalled/ repatched multiple times but ive had no luck. if you have any tips i would really appreciate it… blizzards customer support is killing me. i’ve been on hold for a whie now, they wont respond to the forums i posted, and nothing i find online is helping. $15 a month for this?
thanks in advance guys
oh goodness, would it help to know that i vaguely remember playing a death knight? like, is it possible for me to have trialed it or something?

Yeah, you could have done the 10-day free trial of Wrath of the Lich King… Or you were hacked and they sold your account.
I have had a couple guildies in the past whose client crashed when trying to log into one character on specific, so it isn’t a tremendously uncommon problem. I don’t know how they fixed it though; you really would be best off to call technical support.
And you can always try running the repair utility in the Warcraft folder to see if that helps.

It could be that someone got into your account or some awkward glitch or something else.
The only way is to be patient or wait until another answerer helps.
