Further Education by John Archer & Alakazam Magic

Posted by admin on March 11th, 2011 and filed under alakazam world | No Comments »

Available from http://www.world-of-magic.co.uk

Brand new from John Archer, FURTHER EDUCATION features more of John”s explosive blend of comedy, mentalism and magic, all packed into two high-energy discs of entertainment!

You will get to watch a full LIVE performance of John at his very best – not only performing a collection of KILLER routines but also mixing it with plenty of his superb comedy. There is much to be learnt from watching John really working the crowd and creating an entertainment experience like no other. There are gags-a-plenty throughout these professionally honed routines that you can add to your shows immediately!

After the show, John is joined by Peter Nardi to teach the inner-workings that make up each of these gems in full detail so you will be performing them in no time!

This is a MUST-HAVE set for any serious entertainer and will be a valuable addition to your collection!

The Further Education Stand Up Show:

Blank Night: John”s extremely clean version of the “bank night” plot is a super-charged routine that is jam-packed with perfect in-built comedy, audience participation and a plot packs in plenty of entertainment value for an opening routine! Something, nothing, mine, yours or… sex?!

De-Ja-Tu: A girl is thinking of a card and a man is invited to deal freely through a shuffled deck of cards. Amidst a cavalcade of comedy, the couple end up with a coincidence that is as baffling as it is entertaining; in short, a brilliant two-person mind reading effect that appears to happen between the minds of the spectators.

One Lucky Number: Serial divination given the Archer treatment! Imagine taking a usually smaller effect and turning it into a full stand-up performance piece! Think serial number, burnt & restored note and signed note in wallet; all rolled into one mega, magical extravaganza!

Soundbox: A hilarious routine in which you gamble everything on a simple game of choice! One box, one lock, five keys and tonnes of entertainment! A well-constructed presentation and excellent method make this a logical, funny and baffling lock and key routine. Bet everything you have on the power of your auditory sense!

Comedy Killer: A brilliant new routine based around a very funny presentation about learning to become a mind reader – your audience will become engaged in your studies with Professor Hoffmann when honing your ESP abilities, before they themselves get the chance to test their own. One envelope, one choice and one stunning climax!

Starstruck: Stars of Stage & Screen are the theme for this popular item from John”s act. A real lesson in how small props can be used to play a much larger routine that is clean and direct mindreading at its very best. A simple plot that can open up a string of revelations that will give your spectator the feeling you are really reading their thoughts.

Stick with It: Multiple audience participation; several random numbers, one prediction and a stunning kicker that will knock their socks off! A multiple number routine like none you have ever seen before. No gimmicked notepads required, this is a really organic approach to the add-a-number plot using a small number of items to create a routine large enough to fill an entire stage.

Streetwise: John”s brilliant book-test that uses remote viewing as a premise, a street map for a prop and a series of revelations with different audience members; this is destined to become a classic and combines all the best elements of the best book test routines to take your audience on the ultimate mental journey! Please note that although the prop is explained in full, the book itself is not provided and needs to be purchased separately.

BONUS: John”s Professional Close Up “Set” Performed & Explained:

Just for You” & “52 Leaver: A two-person effect that is IDEAL for the walkabout performer and is one that combined mentalism, playing cards and a very special trick for “YOU.”

This is a professional “set” that is perfect for the strolling performer that wants to present powerful close-up mentalism in a commercial environment. It has all the best elements of a memorable close-up set, it will keep them talking long after you move on and best of all… it is ready for you to learn and add to your repertoire immediately.

Eliminator by Alakazam Magic

Yet another Alakazam Magic UK Exclusive. Our Fastest selling card trick EVER!

Now In Stock

This effect has been shared with only a select few in the past, and has fooled many a seasoned professional! This is one of those killer routines that has been kept secret for some time. You will be blown away by the cleanness and impossibilityof the effect and also it’s simplicity! We are very glad Adrian has allowed us to release it to the magic fraternity.

Effect:

Listen to this: Whilst the performer’s back is turned, two participants each look at a card from the deck. The selections are free choices and different every time. The deck is then shuffled and dropped into the performer’s empty pocket. As each person merely thinks of their card the performer produces it from his pocket! All without a single move!!

But there’s more! Check this out: The deck is fairly shown front and back at the start of the effect. The selections really are genuinely free and from any part of the deck. The participants handle the deck throughout. The effect may be instantly repeated and the selections are different every time. The deck is self-contained, nothing extra is hidden in the performer’s pocket or added or removed at any time. The deck is genuinely shuffled before being placed in your pocket. If you like, it may be placed in one of the participant’s pockets and yet you can still locate the selections! For the ‘mental’ performer, you can simply name the two selections without producing them.

Want even more? OK, but you’ll be sorry you asked:

No rough-and-smooth,
No long-and-short.
No double-faced, double-ended, mis-indexed or other specially printed cards.
No marked cards.
No deck switches.
No pocket indexes.
No memory work.
No sleights whatsoever.
No forces.
Nothing written down.
No stooges, no assistants, no secret signalling devices or codes.
Quick reset.

The Classic Magic of Michael Vincent – 3 DVD Set

Posted by admin on September 8th, 2010 and filed under alakazam world | 8 Comments »

Product Information: http://www.nexusmagicstore.com/the-classic-magic-of-michael-vincent-3-dvd-se3.html

Alakazam Magic is very proud to present the magical artistry of Michael Vincent.

Once in every generation is born an individual whose work becomes known worldwide as a touchstone for excellence. With the hands of an artist and the soul of a poet, Michael is just such an individual.

His sleight-of-hand is masterful, his presentations are inventive and his performances are the epitome of class and sophistication.

As the only magician in history to have won the prestigious title of “Magic Circle Close-up Magician of the Year” three times, Michael has spent the better part of three decades honing his skills to become one of finest magicians that Great Britain has ever produced.

This DVD collection showcases his world-class magic in front of a live audience and features some of the most stunning magic ever filmed. As you watch it, you will experience for yourself why Michael’s stunning presentations are regarded by audiences and fellow professionals alike as some of the very best in the world today.

This Alakazam production is the first in an ongoing series… Lookout for further releases from “The Michael Vincent Collection.”

Contents

Disc One – Michael’s Parlour Show

Routines Performed and Explained:

The Intuition Speller.
Inspired by an original effect of Harry Lorayne’s, Michael introduces you to a machiavellian piece of misdirection which creates an impossible spelling effect.

Kismet.
Michael’s impromptu handling for Al Koran’s Double Thought, featuring a wonderful strategy of Dai Vernon and audience management.

My Card, Your Card, Everybody’s Card.
The history for this effect can be traced back to Robert Houdin’s “Secrets of Conjuring and Magic”. Michael’s handling and presentation brings this ancient effect right up to date for the 21st Century. This routine features Michael’s handling for the obscure Second-From-The-Top-Change.

The Amazing Discovery.
This popular effect has made rounds in the last few years. Michael share’s his professional presentation. His handling and performance tips elevate The Multiple Selection routine to another level. His performance in the live show was a tour de force!

Plus bonus performances of: The Rhapsody in Silver, The Cups and Balls and The Knotted Silks.

Disc Two – Close-up Show in The Bar

Routines Performed and Explained:

Brainwave “My Way.”
This routine is one of the highlights of this DVD. International card expert Darwin Ortiz had this to say about Michael’s Brainwave: “Sleight of Hand techniques have reached such a point, you’ll never need to present the classic Brainwave with a gimmick deck ever again. This routine is just about perfect”.

Michael has taken Dai Vernon’s “Brainwave” effect and turned it on its head into masterpiece of construction and design. With this routine, you will come to appreciate “The Power of Assumptions” and “Audience Attention Control”. Also featured is an under used principle in magic, creating an effect in the mind of the audiences before any technique has taken place. This principle alone is worth the price of this DVD presentation for it opens up untold possibilities.

Pandora’s Paradox.
There is a world of difference between a card trick and card magic. This routine pushes the boundaries in terms of what is possible with a deck of cards. With credit to Bruno Hennig, Tommy Wonder and Roberto Giobbi, Michael has taken the classic “Signed Card in Box” and amplified the effect with an elegant presentation and technical mastery, to produce an experience equal to any theatrical presentation. We think this routine will become a huge favourite.

Vincent’s Aces.
Featuring: The Ace Production, “The Rising Aces”, 21st Century Collectors, Cy Enfield’s Aces for Connoisseurs and The Henry Christ Fabulous Four Ace Routine.

Foursome.
Featuring Michael’s handling for the Spread Cull.

Match Made in Heaven.
Dai Vernon’s “Matching The Cards” meets The Aronson Stack.

Prologue to Triumph.
If you enjoyed Dai Vernon’s original “Triumph”, then you will love Michael’s build up to this classic effect. This routine features some interesting applications for Larry Jennings’s Larreverse and Edward Marlo’s “One Hand Bottom Deal”.

Plus bonus performance only of: The Coins Across / Chinese Connection and a discussion on the inspirations for the routine including learning references. Also a bonus PDF teaching the Wild Card routine featuring Michael’s breathtaking colour change.

Disc Three – Sleight-of-Hand Mastery – The Path Way to Excellence

A discussion of how to improve your magic, raise your own standards and how to master and improve the basic techniques in sleight-of-hand. This is the beginning chapter in an on-going course in sleight of hand mastery with Michael Vincent. We begin here with the basic foundations of card handling.
